Today’s Program is about Marriage Traditions in different cultures (http://spotlightradio.net/listen/marriage-traditions/).  I think it is interesting that cultures have such different, but also similar traditions when it comes to marriage!  As I was researching this program, I found so many awesome examples that i just did not have time to include!

I would love to hear some of the traditions in your culture though!  Or, even stories about your wedding, or what you imagine your wedding to be like!

Hi Liz..

As you said and also from the audio I heard, it was completely true that cultures affect the wedding tradition. As for me, In Bali where I live, it is not only grain or rices we use. There are much more. We call them as the wedding offerings. this is almost the same as many Balinese traditions that use different kind of offerings. You know, an offering is different from the others in term of the materials use, such as the use of different colour of certain flowers, different fruits and cakes, dances,  and of course, different purposes for each offering. The use of holy water is a must in every traditional caremony including the wedding….

So it is very complicated here in Bali (if you do not know more about its cultures)
